| Singer, songwriter, TV presenter, artist and entertainer, born March 30, 1930, Bassendean (near Perth), Australia.
He began his TV career in the 1950s, and he made a name for himself in the UK with his quick-draw cartoons and murals. His songs were also successful with such numbers as "Sun Arise", "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport" and "Jake The Peg" all becoming widely known.
In 2014, Harris was sentenced to 5 years and 9 months in prison after being found guilty of indecent assault, but was released on licence in May 2017. |
