Lurking under the shadows of Chuck Prophet and the Court & Spark reside the unsung heroes of the San Francisco Alt Country scene: Map of Wyoming. With former members of Flying Color and Translator, Map of Wyoming braid '80s-inspired jangle pop with Crazy Horse-styled guitar leads and deep twang courtesy of Tom Heyman (the Barbary Coast's very own version of Americana tear-in-beer deity Mickey Newbury). They have also been known to play with Chris Von Sneidern (the Barbary Coast's very own version of Badfinger's Pete Ham), who lends his Wurlitzer banging skills and buttery-smooth voice.
