American blues rock singer/songwriter, guitarist and pianist, born on October 30, 1948 in Grand Prairie, Texas and died of kidney and liver failure on November 25, 2005 in St. Martin, The Caribbean. He wrote such songs as Eric Clapton's "Running on Faith," Bonnie Raitt's "Real Man" and B.B. King's "Standing on the Edge of Love". Williams started learning music in a local church, his instrument being piano and guitar. Williams toured with Little Richard's band until authorities found him under-aged and sent him home.
