Along with Bad Religion, Ill Repute were one of the first bands to combine a Power Pop approach with the aggressive nature of Punk. By utilizing the melodic sensibilities of the bass guitar, the band is able to deliver the bouncy feel of pop. The grungy feel of the guitars and the rapid-fire tempo give the music its Punk edge. The vocalist keeps the songs aggressive yet accessible with a shout-and-sing style. Members have now splintered and have formed Society’s Roach and Caught Off Guard.
