| Glen Ricks got his start as a member of , who saw him dancing when they toured Canada in 1968. Impressed with his stagecraft, the group soon found that Glen, who had gone to Canada from Jamaica as a child, had musical talent in abundance. Glen joined the group, which also featured and and they recorded the massive Jamaican hit "[m=403932]" for producer in 1969. When the group split in the seventies, each member pursued a solo career. Glen returned to Canada, where he had a successful career as a singer, gaining a contract with when he caught the attention of of the group. He also spent time in soul centers like Chicago and Philadelphia, and cut a beautiful R&B album [m=626510], featuring a superb rendition of the / hit.
