Florida native Devin The Dude originally performed with Rap-a-Lot's Odd Squad; Houston's Smit-D was a childhood friend of Scarface's; 350, the only female member, was invited after passing him a tape at a show in Cleveland; from St. Paul, DMG originally impressed Scarface so much he gained his own solo album (1993's Rigormortiz) for RAL; and Chicago native Chi-Ray, who the group formed around, wasn't so much a rapper as a veteran of area talent shows. |
