Born November 19, 1961 in Deptford Township, NJ. Daughter of Jazz musician Junior Waters and Great-niece to Ethel Waters. The New Jersey based singer whose long time collaboration with the Basement Boys resulted in several pop and club hits, most notably her 1991 debut single 'Gypsy Woman (La Da Dee)'. She enjoyed another hit single with 1994's '100% Pure Love’, and worked with Alex Gaudino on the track 'Destination Unknown' in 2006/2007, and Speakerbox in 2008 with the hit 'Dancefloor'. She co-wrote and did some uncredited vocal work for a single called “[m=215852]" with in 1995. All three of her studio albums produced a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. In December 2016, Billboard magazine ranked her as one of the most successful dance artists of all time. Her accolades include six ASCAP Songwriter awards, three American Music Award nominations, an MTV Video Music Award nod, four Billboard Music Awards and twelve #1 Billboard Dance Chart hits.
