Trumpeter Brad Upton and his lightly funky, Fender Rhodes-enhanced band skirt the line between early '70s Miles Davis-style Fusion and radio-friendly Smooth Jazz. They're equally capable on either side of the fence, and they wind up targeting different portions of the market from one song to the next.
