It's hard to define Superchic[k] when the members keep changing on an album-by-album basis. The band's founder explains this by saying, "We're more of a movement than a band." While they haven't done for music what other movements have, like the modern worship movement a la Passion or David Crowder, their movement is more a behavioral one?ùa rally cry for young folks' personal strength, purity and self-pride. The one thing the variant members have in common is talent and mass teen pop appeal, hitting on some nice pop licks and endearing ballads. One of the oddest occurrences ever in a band's life story: while writing album number four, all six (at the time) members experienced break-ups of serious romantic relationships. The upside goes to the listeners who get a whole new level of creation?ùaching harmonies, more mature writing and introspective melodies. They succeeded in creating surprising Beauty from Ashes.
