TZ 2574 Jay Ottaways songs are given their transatlantic wings by the German Lost Boys: Guido Lehmann, Henrik Herzmann, and Klaus Marner. This is the second album released by Jay Ottaway and The Lost Boys after their indie premiere album Adrenaline Junky (2022). It is also the tenth full length studio album in Ottaways career. Heavily influencing the sound of the album are the guitar playing and arrangements of Guido Lehmann, a Cologne-based multi-instrumentalist known throughout Europe for decades for his previous studio and touring work, not only with Jay Ottaway and The Lost Boys, but also with Hillbilly Deluxe and The Swamptones. Lehmanns deep knowledge and feel for country, blues, and the Americana sound brings out the flavor of Ottaways compositions. Another major architect of the Jay Ottaway and The Lost Boys sound is Klaus Marner, who not only contributed his drumming and percussion skills to the album, but also recorded, engineered and mixed it in his Elch Studios in Cologne, Germany. The band is deeply anchored by the steady bass playing of veteran musician Henrik Herzmann, who has toured Europe for years with a multitude of rock, funk and blues bands. Next to You was mastered in London at the famous Abbey Road Studios by Alex Gordon.
