Notes It's been almost ten years since Ralph Flanagan led his brand-new band into RCA Victor's studios and emerged with a batch of brilliant recordings that were to establish his as one of the top dance orchestras of the the times. There have been a lot of changes in the world since then, but few in the music of Ralph Flanagan.
Some of those changes have occurred in the field of audio-electronics, with the resultant vast improvements in the sound of recorded music. And it's becuse of these very changes that this brand-new set of hi-fi recordings by Ralph Flanagan reveals a new depth to this music, a kind of three-dimensional feeling that unveils, as never before, the colorful tones of his reeds and his brasses and all the subtle nuances of his arrangements.
Etched into modern hi-fi are a dozen of Flanagan's most famous and most requested works, including Ralph's original Hot Toddy, his exciting Joshua, his gorgeously arranged Street of Dreams, his reed-filled Giannina Mia and eight more of his band's highly danceable offerings. This music is devoted mostly to rich ensemble sounds, obviously inspired by the style of the late Glenn Miller, but there are also some delicate, unassuming piano passages played by Ralph himself, that help to set in bold relief those brilliant sounds, recording in equally brilliant high fidelity, of Ralph Flanagan's ever-popular, ever-danceable music.
So, "Listen Again to Flanagan!" and hear him as you've never heard him on records before!
IMPORTANT NOTICE- this is a TRUE STEREOPHONIC RECORD specifically dfesigned to be played only on phonographs equipped for stereophonic reproduction. This record will also give outstanding monaural performance on many conventional high fidelity phonographs by a replacement of the cartridge. See your local dealer or serviceman.
