Bowie's 12th studio album, released in October of 1977, Heroes is the second of the Berlin Trilogy which he recorded in collaboration with Brian Eno. The album continued the ambient experiments of the previous album "Low" and features King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp.

Written by Bowie and Brian Eno, "Heroes" was recorded in July and August 1977. The song was a product of Bowie's 'Berlin' period and has gone on to become on of Bowie's signature songs.

Driven by an entirely deeper dynamic than most pop artists, David Bowie inhabited a very special world of extraordinary sounds and endless vision. Unwilling to stay on the treadmill of rock legend and avoiding the descent into ever demeaning and decreasing circles of cliché, Bowie wrote and performed what he wanted, when he wanted. His absence from the endless list of "important events" just fuelled more interest.
