In 1986, during the great days of the demo, BAD HABIT produced and recorded their first release, which was self-titled. Legendary Metal producer and gifted songwriter Oscar Holleman then took the band under his wing. Holleman is credited with producing over three hundred albums, including work by Helloween, Vengeance, Nailpin, After Forever and Salems Lot, on such labels as Warner Bros., Capitol, Universal, Epitaph and Nuclear Blast. Holleman showed BAD HABIT how to make the most of their studio time, and the result was the groups second demo, Come Together. Their third demo, Kick That Habit, was produced by Lars Varga. For Back on Track, their fourth demo, they were again able to secure Hollemans services. Finally, in the spring of 1994, BAD HABIT said "To Hell with demos!" They recorded Fools Paradise, a full-length album containing ten songs, produced once again by Holleman. The bands career ended on April 5th, 1997, when they gave their final show in their hometown of Tilburg, and a sold-out audience gave them multiple well-deserved standing ovations.P.I.G. Records considers BAD HABIT to be as important to Dutch culture as Golden Earring, Death Metal kings Pestilence, Rembrandt and Van Gogh. This historic collection includes all four of BAD HABITs demos, remastered. It encompasses much of the history of one of the greatest groups ever to come out of Holland, a country which-incorrectly-generally has not been considered a hotbed of music. Most Dutch bands, with the obvious exceptions of Golden Earring and Pestilence, have had trouble getting their music heard outside of the Netherlands. Unfortunately, BAD HABIT was no exception. Many Dutch Heavy Metal historians have suggested that if the group had been able to break into the American market, they would have had the success that Mercyful Fate and Fastway enjoyed, and perhaps even reached the level of Iron Maiden.
