Notes
Similar to Thelonious Monk - Genius Of Modern Music Volume 2 but this version was pressed in 1994 or later.

Recorded at WOR Studios, New York City.
Tracks 1 to 9: Recorded on July 23, 1951.
Tracks 10 to 18: Recorded on May 30, 1952.

Note:
The one Milt Jackson session and six Thelonious Monk sessions, which were originally issued in part and in scrambled form on BLP 1509, 1510 and 1511. For the Compact Disc editions of these albums, the sessions have been put into their complete forms in recording order. Therefore none of these CDs conform with the original albums and they do have a great deal of additional material.

The classic Blue Note albums which span the mid 1950's to late 1960's were recorded directly on to two track analog tape.
No multitrack recording was used and consequently no mixing was required.
Therefore, this CD was made by transferring the one step analog master to digital.
