Recorded on 23 en 24 September 1967 at the Grand Ballroom of the Manhattan Towers Hotel in New York City.

A separate 2-page leaflet (size A4) is enclosed with program notes and a photo.

Although no specific date of release can be found on the album, it is a reasonable notion that that would have taken place in 1968 or a year later. There is an account of a review done in October 1969 by Gramophone on the original LP.

"Four omni-directional condenser microphones were employed, with their signals being mixed to two tracks for Dolby A301 Signal / Noise Stretcher processing prior to recording on quarter-inch Scotch 202 tape at 15-inches-per-second".
