Extremely rare, 1966. Bell label with silver print. Arranged and conducted by Joe Sherman. The talented Georgia Gibbs hit the top of the music charts in 1952 with a stirring ballad version of "Kiss of Fire" on the Mercury label. Fourteen years later, she re-recorded the song with a rousing Northern Soul arrangement. The introduction starts out with guitar riffs lifted from Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman." The arrangement rocks and is high- tech for the psychedelic era. A highly imaginative remake by a top 1950s singer, one of her last recordings.
