Conditions and Grading

GRADING SYSTEM:
FS = FACTORY SEALED = as new from factory, with original plastic seal. Never played.
M = MINT = Record/CD still as new, played maybe a few times but no wear evident and no noise save original pressing errors, (if any) inherent from original press. A mint record/CD should appear to have just left the manufacturer without any handling; that is, it should appear perfect! No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writing, tears or splits; nothing. A Mint CD/album cover should appear to have never had a record in it; no ring-wear, dog-eared corners, writing, split seams, jewel case scratches or insert tears or folds.

NM = NEAR MINT = almost like new. A record/CD that is otherwise mint but has one or two tiny, inconsequential flaws that do not affect the play is near mint. Covers should still be close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident; slight ring-wear, minor denting to a corner, or writing on the cover, jewel case scratches or insert tears or folds.
VG + = VERY GOOD PLUS = minor visual wear, usually not intrusive to listening. Record/CD has been handled and played either infrequently or very carefully. That is, an item obviously not perfect, but not too far from it. On a disc, this could mean that there are light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a sleeve or the vinyl may have lost some -- not all -- of its original luster. A slight scratch that did not affect play in an otherwise NM disc would be acceptably VG+ for most collectors.
VG = VERY GOOD = better than VG- , but not quite VG +, wear now begins to be evident in listening. Record will display visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches, groove wear, and spindle trails from countless spins on the turntable. A VG record looks like it may have some audible surface noise when played, although any such noise should not overwhelm the musical experience. VG records should appear to have been played but well-loved by a responsible owner. VG CD's may have visible damage to play surface without any noticeable detriment to the playback, i.e. there should be no skipping or other artifacts in playback from the damage.
VG- = VERY GOOD MINUS = your average used record, will play still play enjoyably with minor noise in spots now being very evident to the listener. Has occasional skips. No CD's estimated and graded below VG are sold as they will either skip or have noticeable audio artifacts rendering them useless.
G = GOOD = Records will play through with evident noise throughout. Good records are offered for some historical or collecting value only. They should not be expected to play without obvious noise at any point of the recording satisfactorily at all.
