| Soul singer (born. March 22, 1952 in Jacknash, Aransas, died, March 4, 2019 in Chicago), Sydney sang in church as a child and by the time he had finished high school, he was performing professionally. Moving to Chicago in the early Seventies, Sydney landed a deal with the Dakar / Brunswick label., via a meeting with Otis Leavell.
Leavell believed that the label had signed the 'next Al Green', due to the similar vocal stylings of the singers.
