Michael Gore (born March 5, 1951, Brooklyn, New York, USA) is an American composer who, along with lyricist won an Oscar in 1980 for Best Original Song for "Fame" from the film of the same title. He also won the award that year for best original score. He produced several recordings for the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Gore is the younger brother of singer/songwriter and cousin of writer .
