English progressive/space/psychedelic rock band founded in 1983 in Somerset. They fuse jazz rock, hard rock and acid rock with influences from world music into an energetic, slick, variegated sound to produce a synthesis that sounds both ambitious and natural. The band's output is instrumental, with only a few minor exceptions. Over the course of 40 years, the band has released over 30 albums selling over a million copies worldwide despite never having signed to a major recording label. Throughout numerous line-up changes, co-founder and guitarist Ed Wynne has remained the sole original member of the band.
