| | Danish comedian, singer, composer, writer, actor, TV host and politician, b. 1952. First career as musician with rock group Sofamania 1977 to 1980, on their debut aliased Kaptajn Klo. In the beginning of the 80's he performed solo and released albums that supported his starting career as a parody politician/spokesman for a satirical movement for the "openly workshy". In 1983 he had a role in the very popular movie "Midt om natten" starring Kim Larsen who for the soundtrack covered one of Haugaards novelty schlagers, "Haveje", for a major hit. Fighting addiction Haugaard has been inconsistant in his career, but in one of the most surprising events in danish democracy he won a seat as independant member of Parlament in 1994 after a campain promising more backwind for bicyclists, craving - hence working is healthy - jobs should be restricted for the sick and demanding more renaissance furniture in IKEA shops. After four years as MEP in 1998 he returned to (real) showbizz. |
