Review
Dinah Washington's expressive, distinctive recordings are well chronicled on this excellent collection compiled by Abbey Lincoln. Just at home with blues and jazz as she was with pop, Washington's clear vocal tone and agile phrasing is on grand display here. "Cry Me A River" is phenomenal, as is her take on Hank Williams' "Cold, Cold Heart.
