Canadian country singer from New Brunswick. Born: Fred Melanson - August 25, 1939 - Minto, New Brunswick, CANADA Fred Melanson was adopted by his aunt and uncle Lizianne and Johnny Richard; and was inspired to pursue a career in music by his "brothers", Willie and Gerald Richard (aka Jerry Rich). At age 17 he moved to Toronto where he teamed up with fellow New Brunswicker Johnny Bourque (aka Johnny Burke, honing their musical talents at various Jamborees and talent contests. In 1966, as a devotee of the music of Nashville star Stonewall Jackson, Fred Melanson took on the stage name of "Terry Jackson". He formed several country bands -- Terry Jackson & The NB Two", and Terry Jackson & The Echo Valley Boys. By the early 1970's Terry Jackson was signed to a recording deal with Canadian independent label Paragon Records (a Division of Marathon Records), and proceeded to record and release three albums; "Nashville Bum" (ALS-164); "Greener Pastures" (ALS-189) and "I'll Share My World With You" (ALS-291).
