An invaluable sideman on electric and acoustic piano throughout the ?æ60s and ?æ70s to greats like Art Blakey, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon and Art Pepper, Cables made a name for himself through his graceful and adroit soloing. Within the confines of Hard Bop, he managed to stay inventive while playing melodic tones. His own recordings began in the late ?æ70s and have continued to maintain his consistent, dynamic sound.
