Faithfully recreating the sounds of brilliant, jittery math bursts and panicky coffee agitation from the movie "Rain Man," Paul Newman can't seem to make up their mind which direction to go. Noisy guitars quickly introduce melodies only to be shadowed by others almost instantaneously. Staggered rhythms and rifling snares keep a solid beat underneath, creating tables and chairs in close proximity for numerous independent musical conversations. The occasion these ambitious students close the books long enough to eat usually proves the most interesting -- dissonant melodies gracefully soaring and weaving around each other in brilliant orchestration rather than obtusely stumbling over each other, staring at their fingers.
