The clever and tightly-wrapped emo/punk-pop hybrid Fall Out Boy formed in Chicago in 2001. Pretty much everyone in the group had cut their teeth playing in hardcore bands, a fact that certainly explains the high praise their cathartic live shows garnered in the years leading up the release of their debut album in 2003. Take This To Your Grave came out on the tiny Fueled By Ramen label but the band was eventually signed by Island Records and sent out on a 280 day tour. Their first record for Island, From Under The Cork Tree came out in May of 2005.
