When Nicole Wray debuted with "Make It Hot" in 1998, she was just 17. The R&B singer was one of the first artists signed to Gold Mind Records, the label set up by Missy Elliott. She started recording the album right away, but for some reason, her record was put on the back burner indefinitely. She kept a low profile for a few years, finally reappearing in 2004 on the Roc Music imprint of Roc-A-Fella Records.
