An emcee, producer, and DJ, Magic Mike has been at the forefront of the Florida hip-hop scene for more than a decade. With more than twenty albums under his belt, he's proven time and again that he is indeed the king of bass. His 1989 LP debut went platinum, and its follow-up became the first instrumental album to be certified as gold. Despite prolific releases and huge regional success throughout the '90s, Magic Mike is still somewhat slept on, considering his major influence and never-ending output. Vibe magazine once called him the "best platinum artist you never heard." On Magic's Kingdom (2000), he continues to bring the party-rocking jams, enlisting ex-Shalimar vocalist Howard Hewett on the bouncy lead single "Groove On.
