His career got a head start thanks to his participation in the Grand International Variété prize 1963-1964 from Radio Luxemburg. In the 1965 Flemish Schlager Festival, Harry reached the final with "Kijk me niet meer in de ogen" With the producer, deejay and entertainer Fred Steyn from Tienen as manager, he also participated in the BRT song competition Canzonissima in 1968. None of his three songs made it to the final, but "De trein" was a big hit. He got a lot of work with his orchestra "The New Six", but his career remained a bumpy one. In 1979 he died of cancer.
