SALVADOR OJEDA Vinyl Records and CDs

Salvador Ojeda (Mexico City, January 27, 1931 - Coyoacán, Mexico City, February 9, 2011) also known by the stage name of "El Negro" was a Mexican musician, researcher, and composer. Composer of songs based on popular music in Mexico, he joined the group Los Folkloristas, a relevant group in the Latin American music boom in Mexico. In 1962 he founded the Café Chez Negro in Mexico City, a forum dedicated to the presentation of emerging talents and alternative to commercial music. Famous artists such as Pablo Milanés, Lola Beltrán and Chamín Correa got to appear there. It was there that he met the musicians René Villanueva and the brothers Sara Rosa, Emiliano, Carlos and Alejandro Ávila, with whom he founded the group Los Folkloristas in which he remained for two years.
