The Places bookend their Lo-Fi songs using samples of conversation that add an air of downright strangeness to their otherwise lovely, noisy offerings. The Portland, Ore. band alternate between dreamy, acoustic gems and more muscular sonic offerings that recall moments of Sonic Youth.
