The nickname Cactus was given to Pryor after the theatre of the same name in Austin, which was run by his father "Skinny" Pryor. He became better known after switching from radio to KTBC, where he worked on satirical news, among other things.
Pryor, who was inducted into the Country Music DJ Hall of Fame, played supporting roles in "'The Hellfighters" and "The Green Berets" in 1968, both movies with John Wayne. In 1986 he was featured in "Trespasses". |
