PIRIGOSO Vinyl Records and CDs

Orlando Guilherme (Pirigoso) was born in São Paulo/SP, on March 29, 1933. He began his career in the program "Manhãs na Roça", by Chico Carretel, on Rádio Piratininga. Then, he performed at "Hora dos Municípios", by Genésio Arruda, on Rádio Record. He was also an attraction on the program "Alma da Terra", on Rádio Tupi, presented by Ado Benatti. In 1949, he formed the Trio "Os Fazendeiros" with Paiozinho and Zé Tapera. They became an attraction for two years at Rádio Record. They stayed for eight years at Rádio Cultura in São Paulo. In 1957, he recorded under his own name, Orlando Guilherme, an album where he played the rancher "Papa-Fina" and the balanced "Sangue Gaúcho". In 1959, he recorded a solo album in California, already using the artistic name of Pirigoso, playing the accordion the "Quadrilha Cabocla" and the drag-pee "Festa dos Fazendeiros". In the early 60s, he played accordion accompanying Mazzaropi in the film "Jeca Tatu", directed by Milton Amaral. In the same year, he recorded "Frevo no Sertão", by himself and Mário Vieira, and the green cane "Curitibana", which would become his biggest success.
