Originating in the L.A. Alt Metal scene that spawned Korn, Deftones, and Coal Chamber, Substance D churn out a sour, angst-ridden brand of well-coiffed corrosiveness that's not too far off from the latter band. Grinding, monotone riffs, sandpaper vocal screams and jaded lyrics are the main ingredients here.
