Though his sarcasm has waned appreciably from the sardonic extremes of They Might Be Giants, John Linnell is still capable of singing with tongue planted firmly in cheek. He seems primarily interested in music as a medium for wry social commentary, and humor erudite enough to make even Dennis Miller shrug his shoulders in bewilderment. His moonlighting music tends to be softer and more melodic than that of his day job band, but it retains similar geeky, spazzy signatures.
