|One of San Diego’s most intriguing bands of the early 2000’s, Dewey Defeats Truman released records and toured regularly. Enjoying a respectful amount of attention and press, the band shared stages with Archers of Loaf, Jimmy Eat World, Jesus Lizard, Kelley Deal and more, and played music festivals including North by Northwest (NXNW) in Portland, South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, and CMJ in New York.
The trio comprised of Mark MacBride, James Reader and Scott Frazier, reformed in 2018 to perform for the 30-year anniversary of San Diego music venue The Casbah. Playing the shows at the request of local alternative radio station 91X DJ Tim Pyles, the band’s renewed energy produced the ‘Blue Ruin’ and ‘Always Waiting in the Wrong Line’ singles both released through Silver Girl Records on vinyl and streaming.
Now once again actively playing, writing, recording, the band released "The Way You Shatter,” a 5-song 12" vinyl EP on Silver Girl Records. In prelude to the EP being released on October 8 2021, a video for the EP’s first single “Slow Reaction” was also released. These releases followed a digital only two-song single, called "Always Waiting in the Wrong Line," that was released to Bandcamp earlier in 2021
