Started his career at the age of 14 on radio WTJS in Jackson, TN. Became the first staff banjo player at WSM in Nashville. Was in much demand as a studio musician. Considered one of the most highly regarded expert on pre-war Gibson banjos. In 1966, invented the 10 string banjo. |
