Review: The Delays have found favor in their native England with a solid mix of modern Brit rock that gleams through with bright, daisy chain streaks of 1960s guitar pop. Their 2004 debut album, the aptly titled Faded Seaside Glamour, finds the highly melodic band mastering a mainstream terrain that sounds tougher than Coldplay or Travis without veering into the unfriendly, "lads on an extended bender" side of Oasis or the art school terrain of Radiohead. Since the sonically similar Irish bands The Thrills and Snow Patrol have had a certain amount of success breaking through the American cultural embargo against foreign guitar rock, the Delays stand a good chance of building a strong career in the U.S.
