Shinedown Records, CDs and CD Singles Shinedown With the release of their 2003 debut Leave A Whisper, Shinedown joined the ranks of modern metal bands taking their cues from the major league success of Creed. Namely they played crunchy guitar nu metal with unprecedented amounts of melody. The band's 2004 single, a cover of the great Skynyrd, "Simple Man," was surprisingly true to the original, and also successfully fused real Southern rock elements to the trappings of radio metal.
