Holy Modal Rounders Records, CDs and CD Singles Holy Modal Rounders Originally named Total Quintessence Stomach Pumpers, the Holy Modal Rounders emerged from the Greenwich Village folk scene that produced such "mainstream" folkies like Bob Dylan, Tim Hardin and John Sebastian. An unlikely combination of 1920s traditional music and then nascent psychedelia, the Rounders served up whimsical amphetamine-injected folk. While they also contributed music to the Fugs and once had playwright Sam Shepard as a drummer, their high point of success came when they were featured on the Easy Rider soundtrack.
