Sarai | A white, female rapper from upstate New York, Sarai has been dubbed"Feminem" by many in the media, although her style and content differdramatically from Detroit's Caucasian sensation. Flexing a choppy flowthat's less husky than Lil Kim's or Foxy Brown's, Sarai sounds a bit likeAmil, the ill-fated emcee who got unceremoniously dumped by Roc-A-Fellaafter her debut LP stalled at the gate. On her first album, TheOriginal, Sarai takes on several hot-button topics (drugs, homelessness, two songs about teen pregnancy) but sets them tofamiliar, slicked-out production tailor-made for radio play. Her debutsingle, "Pack Ya Bags," made a little noise, but it remains to be seen asto whether she has what it takes to make it in the cutthroat rap game.Find Sarai cds and Sarai records on SNY Records. |
