Console is the "side project" of Martin Gretschmann of the German indie band the Notwist. Musically, Gretschmann's blips and beats paint a distinctly 1980's-sounding portrait (a tip of the hat to the era he grew up in?) while clever use of samples allows his wicked sense of humor to come through. With all this obvious talent, it's no wonder Console has overshadowed the Notwist.
