A member of the pioneering gospel family the Winans, Mario got his start in the industry as a producer, at the young age of 14. After working extensively with his family's group, he branched off into less spiritual work in the mid-1990s, providing tracks for R. Kelly and releasing his own solo debut, Story Of My Heart, in 1997. He continued to produce for a variety of other artists, including Mr. Cheeks, Mary J Blige, and P. Diddy.
