Crystal Gayle is best known for the wonderful 1977 hit, "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue." That song helped her get out from under the shadow of older sister Loretta Lynn, and it defines the slick Country Pop sound that was often a recipe for crossover success in the '70s. Since then, she's veered more and more into straight-up New Country territory.
