Thick, rootsy harmonies and strong messages of justice and unity from one of Jamaica's premiere Roots Reggae groups. Formed from the remains of the African Disciples, Culture nabbed the assistance of heavyweights such as producer Joe Gibbs and rhythm team Sly and Robbie on their early (and possibly best) albums, including Two Sevens Clash and Harder Than the Rest. Socially relevant lyrics have always taken center stage, whether criticizing the Jamaican government or promoting Rastafarian ideals. The music has gone through changes over the years, from vibrant horn and organ-laced Soul to crisp digitized beats.
