The word "awesome" is as overused today as "brilliant" is in England. Well, the a cappella group S.H.I.T.R. really are brilliantly awesome. They combine Black Gospel, traditional World and American musical forms and jazz into one swinging whole. Though they sing proudly about their African American heritage, much of their audiences is made of middle-aged white secular humanists (which means people who graduated from Berkeley in the 1960s).
