Grading RECORD CONDITION GRADING VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ.... (Based on the 'Goldmine' grading system adopted by The Record Collector's Guild) Mint (M) - Unused, Unplayed record with all sleeves in factory condition - 99% of the time we deal with used records only and we will NEVER sell an opened record even if unplayed as mint condition. This does NOT mean the record may not suffer from static or crackling, as new records are not guaranteed to be clean, but mint will be 100% guaranteed to be an unplayed record. Near Mint (NM) An opened record which may have been played a few times only or not at all (shop stock for example or demo / review records again not played). May have light marks on the cover from handling or storage but no visible damage. Vinyl rarely played but may have static crackle from long storage. It will have no obvious vinyl wear. Very Good Plus (VG+) - (Some dealers describe this between VG+ / VG++ to NM-, we feel this does not define anything particularly useful or specific, therefore we try to physically describe any apparent defects separately). A played record with possible minor sound degradation, for example crackle and maybe minor wear at quiet moments in the recording, possible wear apparent at high pitches. Cover/s in undamaged condition, possibly with light marks and/or scuffs around the edges Very Good (VG) - A played record. No skips or jumps when playing, likely track noise or wear degradation but does not seriously effect listening. Sleeves all intact and original with no deep scratches but may be creased, show vinyl ring marks and/or worn on some parts of the covers edges, front, rear for example. Good (G) - A heavily played record, record playable with no skips or jumps but will suffer from crackling and wear and likely to have vinyl surface scratches. Sleeves could be bent, worn, scratched for example but all are intact with no evidence of repair (glue / tape). Fair (F) - A heavily played record, has surface scratches, plays but will suffer with loss of sound quality, might skip or stick, may be warped. Covers and sleeves are all with the record, but likely to be worn and/or damaged, may have repairs, tears or rips, likely to be of interest to someone looking for a rare record or of specific interest but can't pay mint prices. Poor (P) - Record scratched and serious deterioration of sound, may be warped, playable but expect playback problems such as sticking and/or skipping and heavy wear. Sleeves damaged or missing. We try to supply records in Good condition or better, there are times when we feel a record in worse condition may be desirable to our customers and we will keep it in our stock. All records are listened to but once only and not always through the complete record (to prevent further wear), played on a high quality record player before listing. Record and sound quality cannot be defined in great detail as each individual's perception of sound quality for example differs. Therefore we will highlight any imperfections we hear. The same applies to the visual check of the record sleeve, internal sleeve and any other artwork, etc.... Return Policy
