Showing the distinct influences of Tom Petty and Bob Dylan, this London-based quartet is Un-American in name only. The band's center of gravity is Steve McEwan, who, after a bit of world traveling, landed in London and began playing with World Party -- an experience that seems to have shaped Unamerican's sound sharply. Punctuated by a steady rhythm section and jangly guitars, the band's arid Roots rock is underscored by McEwan's vocals, which have Dylan-esque inflections down pat.
