| Jazzy, Bossa Nova-influenced rock that replaces serious musicianship with enthusiasm. Black Velvet Flag aren't much different from the Legendary Jim Ruiz Group or early Everything But the Girl, but they lack the sense of fun and emotion of those two bands. Their interview clips have the band equating Retro Lounge music with Punk rock. They prove their point with a cover of the Circle Jerks' "Group Sex," which doesn't really differ all that much from the Hardcore band's version.
