Conditions and Grading
If there is a single grade it is for the entire record. If there are two grades, each represents a side.
Visual grading as follows:
STILL SEALED The record itself is in sealed shrink wrap and should be in brand new condition any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster should be present and in perfect condition.
MINT I do not use this designation. For me, a record is sealed or not.
NEAR MINT (NM) By visual inspection under a light the record surface approximates new condition but the seal is cut and the cover is opened. Near Mint for me is an opened record that has NO VISIBLE SCRATCHES, SCUFFS, or SMUDGES.
EXCELLENT PLUS (EX+) Near Mint for me is an opened record that has NO VISIBLE SCRATCHES, SCUFFS, or SMUDGES. If I see any slight thing I will mark it EX+, a very nice record too.
EXCELLENT (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. It may have a couple of surface scratches which by visual grading should have little if any auditory effect. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. Any scratches will not be detectable by a finger running across it.
EXCELLENT MINUS (EX-) The record has been played and has surface scratches which by visual grading should have auditory effect, though not consistent or loud. Any scratches will not be detectable by a finger running across it.
VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) It was obviously played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took overall good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have scuffs or light scratches but with no major deterioration that seriously affects listening experience. Any scratches will not be detectable by a finger running across it; there will just be more of them than the EXCELLENT MINUS dsic. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but is should be barely noticeable. All but the most mint-crazy collectors will find a Very Good Plus record highly acceptable. A slightly better item will be rated VG++.
VERY GOOD (VG) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, with some distortion and scratches and continuous surface noise. A scratch may be detectable to the finger but is not deep. If it is a rare item or if you need an inexpensive copy, it will do.
GOOD / FAIR (G/F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. It may have lost its shine and have many scratches, some beyond the surface level.
POOR The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. Only if a record is very desirable and hard to find will I sell a record in this condition.
*COVER CONDITION*
Covers are described in the description.
NICE Nearly in STILL SEALED condition, whether in original plastic wrap or not.
EXCELLENT An LP jacket may have slight signs of wear and also may have a little creasing. Slight storage rubbing (circular) may be present. Most buyers are totally satisfied with this cover but very demanding buyers may need to look for a NICE or a STILL SEALED copy. EXCELLENT is not perfect.
VERY GOOD Morestorage rubbing (circular) may be present and overall wear. May have writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.

Seller Information
I grade Mint, Near Mint, Excellent Plus, Excellent, Excellent Minus, Very Good ++, Very Good +, Very Good. With me, Near Mint *IS* near perfect. I don't offer records that are Fair or Poor. I look at every record under an incadescent light and a fluorescent light to try my best to really see its condition.
As a buyer, please be aware that some sellers use a rating that goes from Near Mint to Very Good ++ only. I try to be as very precise as possible and offer more focused, precise ratings. When you receive a record from me, I want YOU to see what *I* saw.
